Meet the fabulous team that makes up Harl Family Dentistry. With combined experience of over 200 years in dentistry, our staff is well prepared to give you the best care possible!

Dentist
Dr. Nick Harl
Dr. Harl was born and raised in Columbia, MO and is proud to be back in his hometown to practice dentistry. Growing up as the grandson of a local orthodontist, Dr. Harl knew dentistry was his life-long calling. Dr. Harl was a Rock Bridge alum before he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from Truman State University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Harl prides himself on his ability to connect with and educate his patients to help establish understanding and comfort when under his care.
At home, Dr. Harl enjoys spending time with his family (wife, Maggie, and son, Robbie). Together, they enjoy swimming, walks on the local trails, and eating at all the amazing restaurants that Columbia has to offer. In his free time, Dr. Harl enjoys swimming, building LEGOs, and working on his multiple aquariums.

Operations Manager
Maggie Harl
Maggie works up front and manages special projects for the office. She has previously worked in various administrative roles at MU and loves her new role here at the office.
In her free time, Maggie loves listening to musicals, reading, and binge-watching shows.
Growing up in O'Fallon, IL (near St. Louis), Maggie later met Dr. Harl at Truman State University. They had their sweet son, Robbie, in 2020.

Hygiene
Lexi Lewis
Lexi moved to Columbia, MO in 2007 and began her journey in dentistry shortly after. Lexi graduated from Nicholas Career Center for Dental Assisting in 2012 and continued to advance her career by earning her degree from State Fair Dental Hygiene Program in 2024, where she was honored with the "Most Distinguished Health Science Student Award."
Outside of work, Lexi loves to spend time at the lake with her two boys, Jaxon (13) and Kaysen (11), making memories and enjoying the outdoors.

Front Office
Katie Keller
Katie has worked in healthcare for over 20 years. She has enjoyed the nursing field for the majority of that time and now has found her home in dentistry. She has lived in Columbia for most of her life and enjoys her family of 3 children along with her husband. Among her favorite pastimes are hiking, fishing, hunting, cooking, and BBQ. On the weekends you will find her camping on their family farm located in southern Missouri. She is known for her compassion and always putting our patients' care first. Katie is the person you will see when you enter our office, and she will always greet you with a smile.

Hygiene
Rebecca Maier
Rebecca has been in the dental field for over 25 years. She became a dental hygienist in 2003. She has an associate degree in Allied Health Science Dental Hygiene and has earned her Biology degree from Columbia College. She has worked for the office for four years. She is passionate about dental health and loves to give back to the community through volunteer dentistry in the schools. She enjoys time educating and encouraging patients to maintain good dental health. Rebecca resides in Rocheport with her husband and is a dedicated mom to her two kids. She enjoys crafting and camping and is a part-time Zumba Fitness Instructor.

Assistant
Heather Spangler
Heather attended Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City and received her dental assisting certificate in 2002. She wears many "hats" in the office, from assisting Dr. Harl to purchasing, organizing, and managing supplies, and taking care of the laboratory cases. She's been with the office since 2017, under Dr. Minten.

Hygiene
Trish McCalla
Trish is originally from Wyoming. She received her degree in Applied Science and Dental Hygiene from Sheridan College in Sheridan, WY, in 1989. Trish received the F. W. Ebinger Award for Clinical Performance and Professionalism. She has worked for the office since 2006, enjoys getting to know her patients, and has established many longstanding friendships over the years. Trish excels in putting her patients at ease and making them feel at home. A true cowgirl, she enjoys team roping, woodworking projects, and making tin silhouettes. Trish has horses, a dog, cats, and a chicken named Helen.

April Rash
April received her Expanded Function Dental Assistant certificate from Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City in 2008. April has been a valuable member of the office since 2016. Her friendly smile and caring nature help put our patients at ease right from the beginning. April is the proud mom of three children and two grandchildren. She lives in Ashland and is involved in her community. April enjoys crafting, cooking, canoeing and of course, taking care of her beautiful family.
